Class Reunion of 1960 and 1961
To the left is a picture of the class of 60 and 61 Reunion. This is the first photo to be posted on our web page. Hooray for them and more photos will follow. It seems these images and web pages have a mind of their own when one tries to post them in a certain place.
OK EVERYBODY!!! We are trying to spread the word. MARK SEPTEMBER 29 ON YOUR CALENDAR…THAT DAY IS FOR JAY SCHOOLS HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME VS THE VINITA HORNETS. THE NEXT DAY, OCTOBER 1ST IS JAY’S CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION. THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT ACTIVITES SCHEDULED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. SEVERAL CLASSES INTEND TO HAVE A REUNION OR GATHERING THAT IS PLANNED AROUND THIS CELEBRATION. SO IF YOUR CLASS HAS’NT GOT ANY PLANS, YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO DO SO. IT SHOULD BE A LOT OF FUN.
Classmates and graduates of the class on 1970 had their reunion on August 7th. Everyone had a good time and reported they do not want to wait so long for their next one. Hopefully, we will get some pictures from their reunion posted soon.
The annual rivalry football game of the Jay Bulldogs vs Grove Ridgerunners is in the record books now.
More info about the “DUES for the year” scam that some of you have may have received in your email. There is no charge to belong to your Alumni Assn. and there never will be. The internet is full of places that prey on unsuspecting people. Several sites will make you think that you are the one they went to school with and on and on. Next thing you know, they are hitting you up for some money so you can get in contact with even more people you went to school with. You know the routine. So, just be aware of your surroundings when digging around the internet.
Don’t forget, make sure you are logged on correctly. If you log in to www.JayAlumni.com directly in the address bar you will go directly to our web page. Going through a “link” can be deceiving.
We would like to welcome Johnnie Earp to the Board of Directors. Johnnie will serve in the seat formerly held by Charlie Wilkins who retired. We would like to thank Charlie for serving many years on the Board. Johnnie’s background in finance can help bring new ideas to the Association.

Our Alumni Association presented four scholarships at the awards presentation. Each scholarship was in the amount of $1000.00 each. Mighty nice you say? Four thousand dollars in scholarships by the Alumni Association, how in the heck did they do that???
Our Association is the benefactor of a very generous local person. This person wanted to do what him and his family could to award students who have worked hard to make good grades and go to college. The donor has stipulated that we award two students with $1000.00 each annually. The total amount of money this person presented was in the amount of $25,000. Whew! What a contribution. We will continue to have our fund raisers and keep working to make our Association the best it can be and award as many scholarships as possible.
Since we are on the subject of money, you may make a donation whenever you choose.
